Gilbert is a Germanic name meaning "clear commitment". The Normans brought the name to England, where it is customary in the Middle Ages. It was a British 12th St. Century, the founder of the Order of Gilbertine.

Lorcan is an Irish name that means "small fortress" in Irish. That was the name of the 12th Century Archbishop of Dublin. It is used in Ireland as a substitute for the name Lorenzo and is pronounced as written - LOR-kan.

Gilbert.

I loved the "Anne of Green Gables" books when I was younger and still connected with Gilbert Gilbert. It sounds childish, but also has a sexy charm. It is soft, but strong - I hope he will be right back!

While I like Lorcan and I find it interesting, the idea of being used alias Gil Gilbert, seem more inclined to use them. So Gilbert is my voice.

I like Gilbert better.

Lorcan sounds like the name of a villain in a cartoon.
